ED Woodward Reveals Manchester United’s Transfer Plans

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United have been under scrutiny after losing games to Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir but a recent run of good form before the PSG game has made Ed Woodward believe in the Norwegian skipper.

According to Sky Sports Ed Woodward revealed that Manchester United will adopt a ‘Long-term approach to recruitment, focused on the summer windows”, so if you’re a United fan expecting a big signing of Grealish or Sancho in January, just know that Ed has other plans.

Woodward also stated how the club was ‘happy’ with Ole’s progress in the last 2 years and that Ole has their whole hearted support.

“Of course, we recognise there’s more hard work ahead to achieve the consistency needed to win trophies. But we see positive signs on the pitch and the training ground that reinforce our belief in the progress being made by Ole, his coaching team and the players.”

With the club being 9th in the Premier League, some fans believe that Woodward isn’t doing enough transfer wise and that the club should invest in January but Ed reiterated how much they have spent since the summer of 2019.

“I told this forum back in April that we remained committed to strengthening the squad, while being disciplined in our spending during the pandemic. I believe we’ve delivered on that, with the additions we made during the summer taking our total net spending to over €200m since summer 2019 – more than any other major European club over that period.”
