Nate Diaz was quizzed over the possibility of a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor after last night’s win over Tony Ferguson.
Diaz bowed out of the UFC with a superb submission win over Tony Ferguson, a fitting way to end what has been a quite remarkable career in combat sports.
Despite his career now being over, he was, rather predictably, asked whether there is any chance of a trilogy bout with Conor McGregor coming to fruition.
Diaz’s response was one that the reporter asking the question should have anticipated.
The reporter asked if McGregor had reached out to Diaz via phone to discuss the fight, a suggestion that left the fighter rather bamboozled.
Diaz went on to clarify, as if it needed clarifying, that he and nemesis McGregor are not on speaking terms. It doesn’t look like a trilogy is in the offing…
