Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has claimed that the former heavyweight champion could BEAT Oleksandr Usyk.
Wilder reigned as the WBC heavyweight champion of the world until he was dethroned by current champ Tyson Fury over a thrilling, memorable trilogy.
The American has not fought since his defeat in the third fight against Fury, but he is now back in camp and returning to the ring against Robert Helenius next month.
With Wilder back in the mix, every heavyweight on the planet ought to beware. According to his training Malik Scott, Oleksandr Usyk is absolutely included in that.
Usyk made Anthony Joshua look ordinarily in both of their two fights and there’s absolutely zero doubt that he would comprehensively outbox Wilder.
However, all it would take is one sweet right hand from Wilder to end the night for Usyk, and subsequently, end his reign as unified heavyweight champion.
We think it’s unlikely that we ever see these two meet in the ring against each other, but we’d like to be proven wrong. It’d be an intriguing battle, no doubt.
