🚨 Deontay Wilder given green light for world title shot

The former heavyweight champion may get the chance to win a world title once again.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ was dethroned of his WBC heavyweight by Tyson Fury in 2020.

Since then he hasn’t exactly set the world alight losing four of his last five fights including being knocked out by Zhilei Zhang in his last outing.

But it has emerged that he would be given an opportunity to fight for the WBC’S Bridgerweight crown if he decided to do so.

“I am sure that if Wilder wishes to fight vs the Bridgerweight champion the WBC would approve but we have not received anything from our dear Deontay camp,” wrote WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman on X after a fan asked about the possibility.

Currently the title is held by Britain’s Lawrence Okolie who won the title by knocking out Lukasz Rozanski in May.

With the American not being the biggest of heavyweights and his current form a move down in weight class, which sits between cruiserweight and heavyweight with a 224lbs limit could be a good move if he decides to carry on fighting.
