The former Waterford hurler Dan Shanahan hung up his boots this year with his club Lismore after 20 years of service for the club. It was announced this week that the 45 year old will become a selector in the midlands county Laois.

Good luck to the former Waterford hurler, he is a legend of the game and Laois have a massive hunger for hurling in the midlands. Can Dan Shanahan have good success with Willie Maher in the midlands county, time will tell..

Good to Dan Shanahan still involved in the game and coaching, to be coached by one of the greats, a man that won hurler of the year one year when Waterford were at their strongest.
