Conor Fitzpatrick, who is a GAA club member with Ballymartin in Newry posted a disgusting comment on his Twitter account about the Annaghdown forward’s late father.
John Comer was the father of Damien and sadly passed away in 2017,
“I apologise wholeheartedly to the Comer family, not knowing the history, however the tweet was meant with the best of GAA craic. The rest of you can take a breath.”
And the keyboard warrior has also been defended by his club Ballymartin who are “very proud” to have him as a member of the club.
“We are very proud to have Conor as a member of our club. Conor is a football man and does tremendous work for us on and off the field. He was clearly not aware of the situation and wholeheartedly apologised for the comment and offence caused.”
I apologise whole heartedly to the Comer family, not knowing the history, however the tweet was meant with the best of GAA craic. The rest of you can take a breath. https://t.co/C0co0O96IE
