The debate of ‘Who’s better – Cristiano Ronaldo on Lionel Messi?’ will divide opinion for generations but Ronaldo took one step closer to sealing the ‘Greatest of all time’ status last night.
Ronaldo scored his 750th goal for club and country last night as Juventus cruised to a 3-0 victory in Turin with Federico Chiesa and Alvaro Morata also scoring.
After the game the Portuguese captain tweeted: “750 goals, 750 happy moments, 750 smiles in the faces of our supporters. Thank you to all the players and coaches that helped me reach this amazing number, thank you to all my loyal opponents that made me work harder and harder everyday.”

Ronaldo’s goal may not have been one of his more impressive efforts but it did write him into the record books and help him overtake Lionel Messi in the process.
It was the 35-year-old’s 71st goal scored at home in the Champions League which makes him the most prolific scorer at home, overtaking Messi’s previous record of 70.
All 70 of Messi’s European goals were scored at the Camp Nou with Ronaldo bagging his 71 at the José Alvalade Stadium, Old Trafford, the Santiago Bernabeu and Allianz Arena.
