On this week’s podcast I sit down and talk to former Ireland, Charlton and Ipswich Town player Matt Holland. Matt won 49 caps for Ireland and we will never forget that goal against Cameron at the World Cup in 2002. He also managed to play 223 consecutive games for Ipswich, incredible! Matt was a player that believed in himself and worked hard to make it as a professional footballer. Despite Matt being turned down by Arsenal football club for being too small. Give a listen to the pod below;
Hopefully the good days like 2002 aren’t too far away under current Irish manager Stephen Kenny. That Irish squad in 2002 was full of quality, with all the players in the Irish squad playing with a Premier League side bar one. Matt Holland played a vital part in that Irish squad and is currently working with TalkSPORT and does commentary for a lot of the Premier League games that you see on TV. We wish Matt all the best in his current role and thank him for coming on the pod and following the page.
