News coming out of Cork GAA today is that the former Rebels football manager Conor Counihan has left his role as project co-ordinator.

Counihan was give the remit of implementing an ambitious five-year plan which he helped conceive along with Brian Cuthbert, Graham Canty and then county board chief Tracey Kennedy.

The plan aimed to return Cork football sides to the top tier of the game in all grades, increase support, develop player pathways and reimagine the county championship and how the game is administered on Leeside.

Good luck to the All-Ireland winner in whatever he goes on to do next, he did a service for the Cork footballers in his time. Rebels Abú
