What a cracking game of hurling this has been between both Cork and Clare in the All-Ireland final. The viewers watching on BBC in the UK don’t know what to make of it, have a look at some of the tweets and comments below ..

Never watched #hurling before. No idea on the rules or the scoring but bloody loving this on BBC2 now!! What a game. 🇮🇪

Hurling appears to be a mix of UFC, rugby, hockey, football, baseball, the egg and spoon race all whilst hitting a snooker ball as hard as you can as high into the sky as possible towards goal with what looks like the bones of a tomahawk steak. 10/10. Would recommend #hurling

Watching the All-Ireland final and it's my first experience of hurling.
It looks absolutely insane, like how do people not die playing this?

BBC 2 is showing hurling and I don’t think I’ve ever been so invested in a game I know nothing about

Is the BBC in England showing the game ? I’m up north today and BBC NI have it on here.
All Ireland Hurling Final. Amazing sport. Nothing comes close to it in terms of fitness and to e skill set needed to play it. Great game this tooBest game in the world when played well. Most unknown alsoThe helmets have only become compulsary in recent times. The players dont like them. Enjoy your first taste of the game Ireland loves. BTW they are all amatuers with day jobsNo millions of pounds in wages and no lying down rolling around crying like a child when someone touches you in this game. Hard as nails and skill required.
I am enjoying immensely the comments from first time viewers to Hurling. An amatuer sport that is also the National Game of Ireland.
I have attended one final at Croke Park which was in 1989 when my Aontroim Bhoys were beaten by Tipperary. One of my most cherished sporting memories ever. Dublin is a BUZZ on finals day, the bars afterwards are full of supporters of all involved as the Minors Final is played before the main event. We sat down together and each had to sing a song from their own county, yes, I got a tad tipsy! Hic!
As many a young schoolboy all over Ireland I played the game at my school in Belfast. Just like schoolyard Football wherever the sliotar (ball) went it would attract about twenty hurlers with big sticks! lol As there were no helmets accidents happened occasionally. Great fun though and great memories.
Please BBC show a bit more next year than just the final, would be much appreciated by many.
And they are all amateurs, not a multimillionaire player with flashy cars anywhere.
