Conor McGregor has narrowly avoided jail for an “appalling” series of dangerous driving incidents in Dublin.
He was accused of jumping a red light, speeding in and out of traffic and almost causing a collision.
The Irishman, 36, of The Paddocks, Straffan in Co Kildare, reportedly asked ‘are you taking the p**s’ after a garda who drove over 100 miles per hour to catch him asked him to step out of his Bentley Continental GT convertible on the N4/M50 interchange in Palmerstown, west Dublin on March 22 2022.

At Blanchardstown District Court yesterday Judge David McHugh said,
“This is an appalling series of breaches of the road traffic rules and an appalling episode of dangerous driving.”
He imposed a five-month sentence, suspended on condition that McGregor kept the peace for two years, and hit the UFC star with fines totalling €5,000 and a two-year road ban.

McGregor was scheduled to make his eagerly anticipated return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler in June but a broken toe forced him out of the fight.
He posted on Instagram: ‘Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout.
‘The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team.
‘My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there!’
His last fight in UFC was against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight where he suffered a broken leg in 2021.
