Chelsea fans have been given the first look at Ben Chilwell’s post-surgery scar, and it’s a nasty one.
Chilwell was absolutely FLYING after winning his spot back from the polarising Marcos Alonso. For a period of time, the direct goal contributions from himself and Reece James provided the foundations for Chelsea’s success.
However, his purple patch was put to a rather abrupt end after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, leaving him requiring surgery. He will be ruled out for the vast majority of the calendar year, which is a huge blow for Chelsea and England.
He is on the comeback trail, though, alongside full-back counterpart James, who is also out injured. The pair shared a photo on social media of them looking in high spirits as they focus on recovery.
In doing so, Chilwell gave Chelsea fans the first sight of the nasty scar on his knee, sustained during surgery.
With it only being a matter of weeks since Chilwell went under the knife, it’s no real surprise that it looks so profound. The scar will fade as the injury heals. Chelsea fans will be hoping that doesn’t take too long…
