Cesar Azpilicueta has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Barcelona to join on a free transfer in the summer.
Azpilicueta, who is Chelsea’s captain, has won every single piece of silverware available to him since he signed for the Blues on the back of their Champions League triumph in 2012.
For a club who has splashed the cash summer after summer since Roman Abramovich bought the club back in 2003, Azpilicueta was a rather modest, but hugely successful, acquisition.
All good things have to come to an end eventually, though, and if Football Insider are to be believed, Azpilicueta is ready to cut ties with Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of June.
The report claims that Azpilicueta already has an agreement in principle with Spanish heavyweights Barcelona to join them on a Bosman when the summer transfer window opens.
