Chelsea will now be without goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy after it was announced that he will have to undergo surgery on a fractured finger.
Chelsea just can’t catch a break at the moment, Mendy’s injury is just one of many that Chelsea has been dealt in the past few months.
They currently have ten senior players on the injury list including the likes of N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Ben Chilwell.

To make matters worse they lost two players in one game, Raheem Sterling and Chrisitan Pulisic were both subbed off in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Thursday.
Mendy has struggled to regain his excellent form of last year and this injury won’t help matters. Graham Potter must now rely on Kepa Arrizabalaga to hold down the fort for the time being.
Despite having a good start to the season the Spanish goalkeeper has shown that he is still prone to making goal-costing errors, like on Thursday night.
Riyadh Mahrez’s winner could have been avoided if Arrizabalaga stopped the cross but instead he opted to just let the ball roll across the six-yard area.

Chelsea will need to be active in the transfer market if they want to stand a chance of qualifying for Europe next season.
