😑 Canelo Alvarez reveals the opponent he hated the most in his career

Posted by

One opponent in the Mexican’s career really got under his skin.

In May of 2021 Canelo took on Billy Joe Saunders at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

In the early stages of the fight Saunders was performing well against the Mexican superstar before damage to his eye forced him to stay on the stool as Canelo continued his dominance at 168lbs.

Infact, Saunders has not returned to the ring since that uppercut and appears unlikely to do so.

Alvarez, when asked which opponent angered him the most in his career, told Premier Boxing:

β€œBilly Joe Saunders – that f***er p***ed me off, that’s why he got what he deserved. Some fighters talk to sell a fight, but I think he’s a bad person and I really enjoyed beating that guy.”

Next up for Saul β€˜Canelo’ Alvarez is Edgar Berlanga who he takes on at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where the Mexican star will defend his WBC, WBA and WBO super-middleweight titles against the unbeaten Puerto Rican on September 14
