Canelo Alvarez has said he’s open to fighting Conor McGregor in a boxing match in 2025.
The Mexican takes on Edgar Berlanga this weekend when he defends his WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight world titles.
But, next year he may just go the Floyd Mayweather route and cash in on some big money fights like one against UFC superstar, Conor McGregor.
When asked about fighting the Irishman he gave a positive response to a potential clash and vowed to show why boxing is better.
He said: “Yeah, why not? Then we’ll show boxing is better. Easy, easy. Very easy money… [I knock him out] at the time I want. One round, two rounds, three rounds – whatever I want.”

McGregor – apart from fighting lawsuits and mascots hasn’t fought at all. In fact his last appearance in the Octagon was his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July of 2021.
With one fight left on his UFC contract he could be tempted into the boxing ring once more.
