Bruno Fernandes Sets Amazing New Record In Just 45 Minutes Against West Ham

Manchester United golden boy – Bruno Fernandes – set a new record against West Ham over the weekend despite only playing for 45 minutes of the game.

The United playmaker set the record in just 45 minutes having come on at half-time against West Ham following a poor first-half display by the Red Devils.

United were trailing 1-0 to West Ham at the break thanks to a Tomas Soucek goal in the 38th minute with the home side looking comfortable at the interval.

Olé Gunnar Solskjaer reacted by sending Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford on for the second-half to try and rescue the game – and boy did it work.

The substitutions made an immediate impact as United bagged three goals in 13 minutes thanks to three great strikes from Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

It was Fernandes who stole the headlines though after the Portuguese midfielder managed to set a new Premier League record for the 2020-21 campaign during his second-half cameo.

Fernandes created an incredible eight chances from open play in just 45 minutes against the Hammers – more than any player has created in a single Premier League match so far this season.

To put that into perspective – the rest of the Man United team created just six chances between them over the course of the 90 minutes.

The stat is as shocking as it is impressive and shows why United have won more points in the Premier League (51) since Fernandes made his debut on February 1 than any other team.

Following yesterday’s game changing performance – Fernandes has now created 35 chances in the Premier League this season, which is more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Fernandes signed for ‘The Red Devils’ in January 2020 for a £47 million fee which will potentially rise to £67.6m with to add-ons. Either way United won’t complain and will consider the purchase of the former Sporting Lisbon man an absolute bargain.
