According to The Mirror London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer in the January transfer window.
Sabitzer has 18 months left on his current contract and Leipzig will only consider offers in the region of £45million for the Austrian international.
Tottenham appeared to be leading the race to sign Sabitzer but during ESPN’s The Gab & Juls Show’ European football expert Julien Laurens said that Arsenal are also “very keen” on signing the Leipzig talent.
When asked about interest in Sabitzer during an interview with Bild – Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche said : “As I said, he has made a great development. It goes without saying that other clubs also notice this.”
Sabitzer joined Leipzig from Rapid Vienna for £1.8 million back in 2014 scoring 46 goals and providing 38 assists in 204 appearances for the German team.
Sabitzer has scored three times in 16 appearances for Leipzig so far this season.
