According to Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia, Antonio Conte wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and return to former club Juventus.
There were no guarantees that Conte would stick around in North London beyond the summer, but Daniel Levy splashed the cash and backed the Italian in the transfer market.
Conte appears content, at least momentarily, but a relatively sluggish start to the season has soured the mood a little at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
There are now claims that Conte wants to leave the club, with Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia claiming that he wants to replace Massimiliano Allegri as Juventus manager.
Spurs are fortunate to have one of the best managers on the planet in Conte. They should, for no reason, be wanting to end this relationship prematurely.
However, Conte doesn’t stick around, we’ve seen that time and time again. If Spurs want sustainability, a long-term project, they’ve got themselves the wrong man.
If Conte were to reject a contract extension and return to Juve, Spurs would be back to square one. They knew exactly what they were signing up for, though…
As a spurs supporter I want him to stay obviously. He is temperamental so he could go at any minute.
Rude, journalistic claptrap. Conte is happy at Spurs and has no desire to leave.
Fingers crossed he stays, but we all know that he’s a two season manager at best.
If he gets us top four by the end of the season who knows?
COYS..
