The rivalry between Sunderland and Newcastle United has rumbled on for 131 years and it continued last night when a former Newcastle player made his feelings known about the Black Cats yesterday evening.
Fulham beat Sunderland 3-2 at The Stadium of Light in the two sides’ FA Cup 4th Round replay and after the match, former Newcastle and now Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, admitted he was still a Newcastle man after helping his side to victory.
“I’m a Geordie boy so they don’t like me here and I knew that! It was a good atmosphere tonight and it is a win against Sunderland so a lot of Newcastle fans will be happy as well!”
The last time Newcastle United beat Sunderland in a game of football Mitrovic was 16 years old. If Fulham winning at Sunderland with an ex NUFC player is as close as it gets for the ‘Geordie boys’ then ya can have that one 🤣🤣🤣🤣 https://t.co/l4GsJYzJao

Fulham went 2-0 up with first and second-half strikes from Harry Wilson and Andreas Pereira before Jack Clarke pulled a goal back for Sunderland, but Layvin Kurzawa made sure of the win in the 82nd minute before Jewison Bennette grabbed a consolation in the final few seconds.
