Ajax beg UEFA for help after leaving record signing out of Europa League squad by mistake

Dutch side Ajax are currently in the process of begging UEFA for help after they forgot to include their £20 million record signing Sebastian Haller in their Europa League squad, reports the Daily Mail.

Haller joined Ajax from West Ham on January 8th for a club record fee of £20 million but was mistakenly left out of the Eredivisie sides Europa League squad.

As things stand the 26-year-old is currently ineligible to play against Lille in the Europa League later this month but Oussama Idrissi – who was signed on deadline day – is in the squad.

The Dutch giants scooped up Haller for £20 million after a horrible time in London at West Ham who splashed out £45 million on the striker but it never really worked out.

Speaking to Dutch publication AD Ajax spokesman Miel Brinkhuis said: ‘He is indeed not on the list, we are trying to find out what went wrong. We have contacted the KNVB (Dutch FA) and UEFA.’

The situation should be able to get fixed as Haller hasn’t played any football in Europe this season for any other clubs.

Since joining Ajax Haller has found the net on two occasions scoring two goals in hist first six games.
