Keane went in studs up on the Norwegian’s knee during the Manchester derby in 2001, earning himself a red card as Haaland was left in a heap.

The two had a prior history together when the United man suffered a ligament injury after tripping his opponent in a game against Leeds in 1997.

Keane recalled the tackle during a segment on the Overlap, where he hilariously blamed Neville for his red card.

“You didn’t help either running off to the linesman saying it’s only a yellow,” Keane stated.

“Gary ran over saying it’s only a yellow so when you say that to an official he’s going to go ‘well that must be a red’
