In the main event of UFC 307, Alex Pereira took on Khalil Rountree Jr with ‘Poatan’ aiming to continue his hot streak in the Octagon.
Pereira has become a fan favourite in the UFC since joining the company three years ago and in that time has become a two-weight champion.
He took on Rountree after Dana White elevated ‘The War Horse’ into this title fight having served a four-month suspension for a failed drug test.

‘Poatan’ made his iconic Octagon walk before the fighters then shared an intense staredown.
The challenger started brightly landing a sharp left hand in the opening round.
In round two, Pereira was briefly dropped when his missed with a high kick and Rountree countered.
Rountree landed a body kick that made Pereira back off and he was clearly hurt by the shot.
Pereira started to comeback into the fight using his jab and calf kick to keep Rountree at bay.
In round four Pereira stepped on the gas and completely beat up Rountree.
What heart shown by the challenger as somehow he was still firing back.
But the end came when Pereira went to the body and that was all she wrote!!

Pereira retains his title via TKO round 4.
