Virgil van Dijk has been slammed for his role in Bournemouth’s opening goal in their 1-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds were left stunned after losing to bottom-of-the-table Bournemouth in devastating fashion at the Vitality stadium.
Only last week, Jurgen Klopp’s side pulled off a statement victory against Manchester United at Anfield, winning 7-0 and giving hope to their fans that they can still qualify for the Champions League.

But as Arsenal found out last week, the Cherries are no pushovers.
They manage to pull off a surprise 1-0 win thanks to a Phillip Billing goal and a Mohamed Salah penalty miss.
Peter Crouch and Joe Cole slammed the performance of the team and one player in particular, Van Dijk.
‘It was disappointing,’ Crouch said on BT Sport.
‘Van Dijk seems to give up, Trent Alexander-Arnold switches off and it’s too, too easy for Bournemouth’
‘It’s a simple ball over the top. He gets back in but now he needs to switch on, he should be in business’ Cole said.
‘When have we ever seen Virgil van Dijk just stroll past someone in that situation? He just switches off.
‘Look at that reaction, you don’t want that from your captain.’
