Gary Lineker has made his first TV appearance since being asked to step down from the BBC last week.
The presenter stated that he went through an ‘interesting’ week after the BBC asked him to step down from his position on Match of the Day due to his social media activity.
After backlash and multiple other BBC pundits refusing to appear on the broadcast, the BBC reinstated Lineker and issued an apology earlier this week.
The former striker appeared on TV for the first time since all this happened, speaking to Viaplay Sports UK.
“How’s your week been, Gary?” 👀
“Really quiet.” 😂@GaryLineker joins #VIVALaLiga to look ahead to #ElClasico and talks about the “interesting and hugely gratifying” response he’s received over the last week 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/qvBNe3J6ln

‘Really quiet, nothing much going on,’ Lineker told Viaplay.
‘Yeah, you could say it’s been an interesting week but I’m still here, still punching.
‘It was interesting and also hugely gratifying. I had an amazing amount of support from my friends and colleagues which was quite beautiful actually.
‘It was totally disproportionate the whole thing but we’re OK. It is resolved. I’m back to work tomorrow and all is well with the world.’
