Harry Kane received a phone call from Rishi Sunak after the English striker broke the goalscoring record against Italy on Thursday.
England got their 2024 European Championship qualifiers off to a great start by beating Italy 2-1 in the city of Naples.
The game was also the setting for a huge moment in English football history as Harry Kane became the country’s all-time highest goalscorer after netting a penalty.

The Tottenham striker received a congratulatory call from Rishi Sunak after the full-time whistle.

Fans weren’t too happy with the phone call with some Tottenham supporters even encouraging the club to sell Kane.
“That Rishi Sunak facetime call to Harry Kane might just be the most cringe thing I’ve seen this year,” One Twitter user posted.
“Sell him @SpursOfficial,” Said another fan.
“Forget selling him, send him on loan to the Championship for five years for this.” An angry supporter wrote.
